Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust
The Churchill Hospital, part of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, is a world renowned centre of excellence for cancer services and a major centre for healthcare research. The Oxford Cancer and Haematology Centre was opened in the Churchill Hospital in 2009, and brought together a wide range of medical and surgical services including cancer medicine, surgery, and diagnostic services. It serves as a base for University research teams, working in partnership with NHS colleagues.
The Department of Oncology works closely with the Radiotherapy Department to ensure that research is rapidly and efficiently translated into cutting-edge clinical treatment for cancer patients. Through these partnerships, the use of Image Guided Radiotherapy is widespread and the use of Intensity Modulated and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy is increasing.
