Clinical Imaging Core
The Clinical Imaging Core supports the development and implementation of advanced imaging techniques in clinical trials.
The new Clinical Imaging Core sits at the interface of the CRUK/MRC Oxford Institute for Radiation Oncology and the NHS Radiology department. The team is led by Brian Burns (MRI Physics), with oversight by Tim Maughan (Oncology) and Fergus Gleeson (Radiology).
The team supports the development, implementation and analysis of advanced imaging techniques in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) (spectroscopy, hyperpolarised xenon, DCE MRI, DWI MRI, T1 and T2* mapping); computerised tomography (CT) (perfusion); and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging (dynamic FDG, FMISO) in clinic trials supported by multiple funders.
Close collaboration with the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, The Oxford Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB) and commercial sources enables state of the art techniques and analysis to be introduced into our studies.
