Director of Studies, MSc in Applied Cancer Science

After a BSc (Hon) in molecular biology in Rome, Dr Pontecorvi completed a PhD at University College London in psychobiology and psychopharmacology and went on to do postdoctoral research work in cancer biology at the LICR (Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research), in Oxford. After the postdoc, he qualified as a teacher with a PGCE in physics (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) from the IOE (Institute of Education, UCL, London), and after a few years in teaching he moved back to the University of Oxford to manage the scientific output of an Oxford BRC group first (Biomedical Research Centre, Diabetes group), and of the Biomedical Research Centre (OHBRC, Oxford Health BRC) second 

As a Teaching Fellow and Director of Studies of the Applied Cancer Science MSc programme in the Department, Marco's role is to provide expert educational guidance to our students, and to support our world class lecturers in creating the best possible teaching and learning experience for both.
