Research Summary

Tumor heterogeneity is  an important factor contributing to cancer immunotherapy resistance.  I am interested in studying how the the tumors can be primed for a better response to the immune checkpoint inhibitors through a combination of biological and computational modelling methods.  The aim of my project is to study how tumor heterogeneity affects the lack of infiltration by cytotoxic CD8+ T cells in breast cancer tumors.  I am currently working on single-cell RNA-Sequencing of breast cancer to understand tumor heterogeneity.

Biography

I graduated from University of Tsukuba, Japan in 2019 with a BSc in Bio-Resource Science. My undergraduate research project, under the supervision of Prof. Hiroko Isoda, was on developing 3D spheriod culture model of primary dermal papilla cell lines to study the effects of natural compounds on hair growth.
