Dimitrios Voukantsis
Postdoctoral Researcher
Dimitrios Voukantsis is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Bioinformatics Hub at the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford. He holds a PhD from the School of Engineering at the Aristotle University, Greece, on data-based environmental modelling and novel uses of machine learning methods in Health Informatics.
In 2014 he joined the Computational Biology and Integrative Genomics group, led by Prof. Francesca Buffa, at the Department of Oncology. His research focused in developing a novel virtual microenvironment for studying the behaviour of biological systems via modulation of signalling pathways (http://microc.org). In 2018 he joined the Bioinformatics Hub within the same institute.
His research involves the development of pipelines for processing genomics and transcriptomics data, in particular single cell RNAseq data. He is also an instructor in the Bioinformatics Hub training platform.
