My Role
As the Education and Training Manager I manage two key areas in the department:
Graduate Studies Office : There are approximately 160 graduate students in the department. I oversee all the University processes relating to the student journey from admission to examination for two taught degrees and two research degrees:
- MSc in Radiation Biology
- MSc in Precision Cancer Medicine
- Masters by Research in Oncology
- DPhil in Oncology
With the support of Charonne Prosser and Jennifer Robinson in the Graduate Studies Office I manage all the processes that support the recruitment and induction of new students, the co-ordination, scheduling and delivery of teaching for the MSc courses plus all QA processes. Students are assessed in line with the examination regulations for their course and these arrangements are also co-ordinated by the Graduate Studies Office.
Training and Development: I work closely with key members of the department to review, develop and implement training and development opportunities for staff and students across the department.
I have worked for the Department of Population Health and the Department for Continuing Education at Oxford. Prior to joining Oxford I worked in Human Resource Management and Training Management in publishing, training consultancy and the charitable sector.
