The Translational Histopathology Laboratory (THL) is based in the Old Road Campus Research Building next to the Churchill Hospital. It specialises in tissue handling and processing, including histochemistry, immunohistochemistry (IHC), multiplex Immunofluorescence (IF), RNAScope and computer-aided analysis of digitised slides. The lab is supported by funds from the NIHR/BRC and CRUK. It is led by Dr Sarah Blagden (Oncology) and Dr Alistair Easton (Pathology).
The THL provides support to biomedical research groups across the University as well as external, commercial, partners. It works in basic and translational research to develop IHC based assays on both mouse and human tissue. There is a strong focus on translational work, clinical trials and preclinical biomarker identification. We aim for the translation of research into clinically accredited and deployable, GCP compliant, validated assays.
Visit the Oxford Cancer Centre website for further information on the services the facility provides.
