Applications to study are made through the Graduate Admissions webpage. This page also contains full details on entry requirements. You can refer to the Application Guide on the central graduate admissions webpages for details to help you through the application process.
A fee of £20 is required prior to uploading your complete application. In some circumstances an application fee can be waived.
You are strongly advised to contact a prospective supervisor to discuss your interest in the group’s research before submitting an application. Supervisor contact details can be found on their profile pages.
The application form
Your application form is the key resource for all admissions decisions including shortlisting for scholarships. Please note: to be considered for all Oxford scholarships, your completed application must be received by the December deadline each year, details to be published on this website once announced. Applications received after this date will not be eligible to be considered for funding.
You are required to include a personal statement in your application of no more than 500 words. This should include details of any relevant experience, as well as your interests and motivations in pursuing postgraduate research study.
There is no need to supply a CV; all relevant questions are provided as part of the application form. You will also be required to upload official academic transcripts and the details of three appropriate referees. Do make sure we receive the references before the closing date otherwise your application will be deemed “incomplete”.
How places are awarded
Our graduate admissions round is highly competitive. Places are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and performance at interview.
Applicants who, as part of our admissions process, are top-ranked will be nominated for funded studentships. Further details about fees and available funding can be found here.
