How to Apply
We remain open to applications for October 21 entry and welcome late applications from candidates. Please review the remaining project list or contact the Graduate Studies Office if alternative supervision by an oncology PI is being proposed.
Please note that any applications received after 9th January are not eligible for University scholarships.
Please refer to our individual course pages to check the admissions status of each course.
Full details of the entry requirements for admission to the DPhil and Masters by Research courses are available on the Graduate Admissions webpage for this course.
Making an application
All applications for graduate study are processed on the University’s Student Management System. See Applying for graduate study for full details.
Further information to guide you through the admission process can be found in the Application Guide. A fee of £75 is required prior to uploading your complete application. In some circumstances an application fee can be waived.
You are strongly advised to contact a prospective supervisor to discuss your interest in the group’s research before submitting an application. Please be aware that some supervisors receive a large number of enquiries from prospective students, so please allow time for a response. Supervisor contact details can be found on their profile pages.
The application form
You are required to include a personal statement in your application of no more than 1000 words. This should include details of any relevant experience, as well as your interests and motivations in pursuing postgraduate research study.
You will also be required to supply a CV, official academic transcripts and the details of three appropriate referees. Do make sure we receive the references before the closing date otherwise your application will be deemed “incomplete” and will not be considered.
How places are awarded
Our graduate admissions round is highly competitive. Places are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and performance at interview. Applicants who, as part of our admissions process, are top-ranked will be automatically nominated for funded studentships. Further details about fees and available funding can be found here.
