Participants and Families
We couldn’t do our research without patient involvement and we appreciate that involvement enormously.
Please note, we as a trials unit cannot advise you on which trials may be suitable for you to take part in - participants will usually be asked to join a clinical trial by their doctor. Sometimes patients may hear about trials and discuss these with their clinical teams to see if they may be eligible for them.
There are a number of sources of information and support for patients and families affected by cancer, including information on taking part in clinical trials. We hope these will prove useful to you in making decisions on your next steps:
NHS Choices, Cancer pages: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cancer/
Cancer Research UK: https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/find-a-clinical-trial. This page has a search function to help you find a trial by cancer type, and a great deal of information about trials and taking part in one.
Participant Experience
MILI participant, Abbi Butler, talks about her experience of taking part in a clinical trial.
