Research
I investigate novel treatment agents for paediatric high-grade gliomas (pHGG), highly aggressive brain tumours in children for which very limited therapeutic options exist. My work focuses on ROS-inducing agents and hypoxia-activated compounds that leverage tumour hypoxia and oxidative stress, for which there is emerging evidence in the pHGG microenvironment.
My research is supervised by Prof Hammond and Dr Olcina. It is part of HIT-GLIO, an international consortium of researchers dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for pHGG patients and their families.
My studies are generously supported by the University of Oxford through a Clarendon Fund Scholarship and a Medical Sciences Postgraduate Studentship.
Biography
Before moving to Oxford, I studied medicine at the University of Zurich in Switzerland, where my research as part of the MICN-Lab focused on the intersection of neurosurgery and machine learning. As a physician-scientist, I aim to bridge the gap between research and clinical application with the goal of ultimately advancing patient care for neuro-oncological patients.
