© 2020 The Authors Dermit et al. reveal that ribosomal protein (RP)-mRNAs localize to the protrusive fronts of migratory cells, where their translation is locally increased, leading to upregulation of ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis. In aggressive carcinomas, this pathway is upregulated in order to support the high anabolic demands of invasive cancer cells.
