Cancer of the uterus occurs most frequently in the sixth and seventh decade, with an approximate median age at presentation of 60. It is, with rare exceptions, a post-menopausal condition. Uterine cancers account for approximately 3800 deaths per year in England and Wales and are the fifth commonest cause of cancer deaths in women1*** and the fourth in the USA.
