Many of our students will be taking part in the 7th Annual Oncology Student Symposium, being held this year at Maplethorpe Hall at St Hugh’s College for the first time.

This is a full day event, and gives students a chance to present their own work, as well as discovering what is happening in the wider department. It fosters useful skills for future work in science and other areas.

First years have been submitting their abstracts for posters, and will be presenting these during the breaks throughout the day. Second years will give ten minute talks, with a further five minutes for questions, and have also been submitting their abstracts. They will be chaired by third year students who will introduce them and facilitate the questions afterwards. There will be prizes for the best poster, the best talk, the best question and an image which will appear on the front cover of the booklet.
