Aihan Zhang
BSc, PhD
Postdoctoral researcher
Research Summary
Currently part of a multidisciplinary team investigating post-transcriptional gene regulation in cancer progression, with a particular focus on cancer precursors (precancers). The research aims to uncover molecular vulnerabilities in early tumour development and to design strategies (vaccines) for therapeutic interception, bridging RNA biology, molecular oncology, and translational research to improve early cancer detection and prevention.
Biography
Dr Zhang obtained a PhD in 2024 from the Institute of Healthy Ageing at University College London (UCL), where the research focused on ageing-related signalling pathways and their roles in age-associated diseases and cancer. The work involved gene expression analysis, identification of therapeutic targets, and the development of liposome-based vaccine delivery systems aimed at modulating key molecular pathways involved in tumourigenesis and ageing.
